Ps 34:13
Have you ever had cause to really examine the things you, loved ones, and the body of Christ suffer due to the active presence of evil in this world and then question the “modus operandi” or method of God’s Supreme Sovereignty? The Psalmist reminds those who are “righteous” [in right standing with God through faith in His Son, Jesus], they will not escape the effects of evil in this world, but if they seek Him, they can trust that the Sovereign Lord , watches over them, listens to their cry, and then responds favorably (vs. 4, 6, 7, 15, 17, 19).
The New Testament reminds the righteous, that if necessary, “for a little while” they will be “grieved” by various trials to prove the genuineness of their faith, which should “result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed” (1 Peter 1:6-8). Truthfully, in our humanity we will never understand the Sovereignty of God. However, as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus we must believe that God loves us, that He has the ability and willingness to defend, protect, and keep us. Then, with the help of His Holy Spirit, we must respond to troubles and calamities in ways that consistently make known the divine truth that without fail, the Lord will surely snatch His people away from and continuously rescue us from troubles in this life until that day of final and complete deliverance from ALL troubles. Therefore, as His righteous one, we can cry out to Him, know that He hears our heart, He sees us and that His face is against all evil! Ask for and receive His deliverance!
