Receive and Say, Thank You!

Receive and Say, Thank You!

He shall be like a tree, Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:3 The Word of God is filled with precious promises to bless His people as they honor and obey Him. In spite of all our efforts, believers in Christ often find their thoughts and actions fall short of what the Bible says pleases God. However, to Him who knows our thoughts even before we think them, our inability to attain perfection is no surprise, nor does He condemn us if we seek and receive His forgiveness. Often when believers fall short they condemn themselves and live under a cloud of guilt and shame trying to fit into the undeserving mold they and others erect; apologizing for and trying to convince themselves and others they deserve God’s blessings. God is good and He wants to reward His children based on His promised blessings and not on the behavioral system humans create. Matthew 5:1-12 is filled with blessings bestowed upon [given; granted] to those who belong to Christ Jesus. Psalm 128 promises blessings of prosperity and fruitfulness for those who fear [revere and worship] the Lord and live according to His commandments. Isaiah 3:10 also promises “it will be well” with the righteous [those saved by grace] and they will “enjoy the fruit of their deeds.” It is God’s desire to bless His people! Therefore as His blessed child, accept His blessings toward you and your posterity with joy and thanksgiving. Recognize and receive, without remorse, guilt or sorrow, the blessings He continually places along your path. Just as parents love to witness their offspring enjoying whatever gift they are given, so does your heavenly Father take pleasure in you receiving and enjoying, with thanksgiving, all the blessings He bestows upon you!!! Start today just by saying “Thank You Lord.”
